How do you construct the Navy’s greatest destroyers more efficiently?
At BIW, the Pre-Outfit Buildings allow large sections of ship hulls to be constructed in a climate-controlled indoor environment. The new Pre-Outfit #2 (PO2) building that OEST is designing will allow hull sections which are nearly three stories high and 175 feet long and weighing in excess of 2,000 tons each to be assembled indoors.
