How do you plan for the replacement of a million pound, 345kV transformer?
345kV transformers weigh approximately 1,000,000 lbs, are about as big as a two-story house, and require heavy haul transports that have as many as 40 tires to spread out the load. Central Maine Power (CMP) has asked OEST to perform the engineering study and design work for the replacement of four of their largest transformers. In addition to this project, OEST is working on numerous engineering projects with CMP as they respond to an increasing power demand.
